For many of the problems for which I state that no explanation is necessary, it still might be a good idea to show your work and/or explain your reasoning.


Section 1.3:

  1. 1-4. (5 points) No explanations necessary
  2. 7-9. (15 points)
  3. 10. (5 points)
  4. 18. (10 points)
  5. 20. (10 points)
  6. 23. (10 points)
  7. 28 (10 points)

Section 1.4:

  1. 2,4,6,8 (5 points) No explanations necessary
  2. 10 (5 points)
  3. 11 (5 points)

Section 1-5:

Section 1.6:

  1. 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16. (20 points total) No explanations necessary.

Computer Problems:

  1. Chapter 1-3, 14-17. (10 points) You don't have to use the computer for this, but it may be helpful. Don't forget to give the equations of any asymptotes you find.
  2. Chapter 1-4, 16 (10 points) No explanations necessary
  3. Chapter 1-5, 12 (5 points)

Bonus.

  1. Come up with a function that has an asymptote that is neither vertical nor horizontal.
