Monday 11 September 2006: Read "Models of the Small World", by Mark
Newman. Skip section 4. Which mechanism, that of Fig 1(c) or Fig 3,
do you think is responsible for most small-world phenomena? In class
we'll discuss this paper, and I'll go over cluster
coefficients.
Thursday 14 September 2006: Introduction to the course. Random graph
exercise. First Homework Due.
