Literary and Feminist Analysis of a Scientific
Paper
Due date is negotiable.
Find a paper from the primary scientific literature that you wish to
analyze and critique.
Your analysis should contain the following:
- A summary, in your own words, of the content of the paper.
- What is the question the paper is concerned with?
- How is this question addressed?
- How is the paper structured?
- An analysis of the central metaphors used in the paper.
- What social
meaning(s) do the metaphors carry?
- Do they related to gender
ideology? Gender identity? Gender assumption?
- A critique of the objectivity of the research(ers).
- In what ways does the paper reflect an objective approach to the
question?
- At what point in the text does objectivity seem to
collapse?
- An analysis from feminist perspective(s) of your own
choosing.
Your analysis should be around five to six pages, typed, and
proofread.
